Design Concept

A tribute to a legendary moment in hip-hop history—DEV LARGE × Large Professor, captured in conversation in New York City, 1998.

Originally photographed for FRONT magazine, this powerful image immortalizes the intersection of two icons:

DEV LARGE

A visionary producer, MC, and DJ who shaped the sound of Japanese hip-hop through his mastery of jazz, soul, and funk samples. His work transcended genre, creating cultural blueprints that still influence artists today.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of his passing—a moment to reflect on a true pioneer’s legacy.

Large Professor

Raised in Flushing, Queens, and a foundational figure in East Coast hip-hop. As a producer, MC, and member of Main Source, his influence runs deep—mentoring Nas, and producing for A Tribe Called Quest, Eric B. & Rakim, and Kool G Rap. He helped define the golden era’s sound: gritty, jazz-infused, sample-driven.
