One of a kind handmade embroidery made in USA.

There are very few people who know how to use this machine today.

It was a very popular form of embroidery in the 50's to the 70's.

The Expansion pullover sweatshirts are assembled in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Expansion original heavyweight fleece fabric was sourced from North Carolina. This handmade embroidery (Chain stitch) was embroiled in New Jersey.

REVISIT THE ART OF SAMPLING

Think of the quintessential Hip-Hop sound: sampling; pulling bits and pieces from sounds that already exist and creating something fresh. Inspired by this dated art form, Expansion has teamed up with Engineered Garments to produce a beautiful tee inspired by the latter brand’s revered Cross Crew Neck t-shirt. Expansion taps Engineered Garments for their font and Cross Crew Neck pattern, laying both atop a tee produced in Pennsylvania from original fabric sourced from North Carolina.

Expansion x I LOVE NY x SHIPS GENERAL SUPPLY

EXPANSION INC. has just launched a major collaboration two years in the making. Teaming up with I Love NY and Japanese retailer Ships General Supply, Expansion produced a series of tees that feature graphic work from TSUNE and photos from David Schmidlapp. The collection is available through Japanese retailer SHIPS.

David Schmidlapp

David has been photographing the streets of New York ever since he moved here in 1972. His photo works has been published, exhibited and projected (in lights shows, media installations and his own "photo performances") in countless international venues. David was also the publisher of the premier, renowned street/subway art publication, IGTimes back in the 80’s.

TSUNE (NOZLE GRAPHICS / PEDALMAFIA）

Tsune is well-known Japanese illustrator for Lowbrow art. He started his career in 1995 and also specializes in computer graphic. Some of his works are R. Kelly, DEV LARGE and Jun Takahashi from UNDERCOVER.
